When a person is baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, his sins are completely forgiven and his old life of sin is buried forever with the Lord Jesus. God will never again remember those sins. “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” (Mark 16:16) “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12)
